FAQ

What’s the difference between Indiana 4-H programs and Indiana 4-H Foundation?
The Indiana 4-H program helps participating youth gain valuable leadership skills, develop their decision making capabilities, increase their appreciation for community service, learn to set goals, plan projects, and solve problems. The Indiana 4-H Foundation works on building partnerships to secure financial support, advocacy, and promotion of the Indiana 4-H program. The Foundation also helps support the 4-H program with any other funding needed which otherwise might not be offered.
What loans and scholarship opportunities does the Indiana 4-H Foundation provide for Indiana 4-Hers?

My son/daughter wants to join 4-H. What do I do?
Call your county extension office or a 4-H leader in your community to find a club or program near you. Or, start your own! All it takes is a couple of adult volunteers and several interested young people to start a new club.
I can’t afford a financial contribution right now, but I would like to volunteer my time to help. What can I do?
The Foundation needs help at the local level to organize events, help with mailings and make contacts. The State Fair is a busy time for us, too; we need help at our booth (s), events and in the office.
What percent of my contribution dollar goes to programs?
In 2006, more than 80% of funds raised supported youth and adult programs.
Do you accept in-kind contributions or contributions of saleable merchandise?
In-kind contributions such as printing services, media assistance, advertising space, and current technology are typically accepted. Saleable merchandise is considered on a case-by-case basis.
